The use of force in the workplace is the absolute last resort. However, some workers have to resort to the use of force as their workplace is of sufficient risk for this to be required.  This includes workers from the following sectors:

  • Security Operatives
  • Council Employees
  • Healthcare Workers
  • Retail Staff
  • Transport Workers
  • Hospitality/ Leisure

Objectives:

By the end of this session the candidate will be able to:
  • Understand Health & Safety and The Law in relation to physical intervention
  • Demonstrate a series of techniques to use during high risk conflict
  • Explain their responsibilities through duty of care before, during, and after an incident
  • Demonstrate how to report an incident

  • Duty of care
  • Incident reporting

Course Delivery

  • 80/20-mix physical/theory
  • Handouts will be supplied to each candidate showing the tactics principles and techniques taught
  • The choice of techniques taught is down to the client. This is an open syllabus which can be tailored to individual needs

Certification:

A certification of attendance or competence will be supplied
