Drug Awareness Course

Who should attend?
This course is appropriate for all employees who within the work environment work with people or operate machinery.  They will benefit from understanding the way both legal and illegal substances (drugs) can interfere with physical and mental changes within employees.  They will benefit from understanding the fundamentals of drug abuse both legal and illegal substances. This course is endorsed by BIIAB.

Course Objectives?
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  1. Understand the difference between Legal and illegal Drugs.
  2. Know the difference between Class A, B and C drugs.
  3. State and understand the legal ratifications of both Possession and Use of illegal drugs both in the work place and in public.
  4. Recognize the Signs and Symptoms of drug abuse and associated behaviour.

Course Content

  • Full discussion on what is a drug and how it can affect the body and mind.  Open chat about their experiences and what they think is the most abused drug..... Alcohol and tobacco  (question and answers)
  • Full discussion on illegal recreational Drugs encompassing Class A, B , and C's
  • What are the slang names for the drugs what teenagers may revert to hide them away from their parents.
  • What they look like and how they administer these drugs into their bodies ... Basically how they will smoke, inject or orally take these Drugs.  (Show printed cards of these Drugs + handouts).
  • Talk about habits e.g. ... how much a drug costs and how people with heavy usage fund their habits.
  • In-depth chat about the SIGNS and SYMPTOMS each Class of Drug . This will cover certain mood changes both physically and mentally. How they change as a person and how it can affect everything around them family, education, employment and self pride.
  • Open discussion (questions and answers).
  • The legal implication behind the usage and possession of these Drugs and briefly cover the stiff sentencing behind these CRIMINAL OFFENSES.

Certification
