Fully Trained Door Supervisors
Our operative is our product, which is why our firm believes we should invest in the development of our training strategies. We conduct our business affairs to ISO9000 standards and are in the process of achieving “Investors in People” accreditation. We encourage continuous development by introducing relevant training programmes, which will enhance their skills and quality of service. All our Door Supervisors have earned their National Certificates for Door Supervisors, unit 1 Roles and responsibilities and unit 2 Conflict Management.
Corporate Training
We provide continuous training for all of our door staff so we can provide the finest quality Door Supervisors available. Compulsory physical intervention training helps prevent the use of unnecessary force, which in turn should help uphold our outstanding reputation. We also provide work related training for all our staff if and where necessary, for example English language and communication within the workplace. To view a list of all the training our operatives must receive. Please refer to the “Supervisor Standards” document.
Our Door Supervisors
We pride ourselves on providing the best service available which is why we are constantly trying to improve the skills of all our operatives.

People not security…
We think our business is about people, not security. We will always remember
that we are a service provider. Each and every customer is valued in light of
who we are today, and who will be tomorrow. We will work to earn our customers
trust and loyalty, and more than simply responding to customer needs, we will
strive to anticipate them with unquestionable honesty, fairness and respect.
Door Supervisor Selection
Our door supervisors undergo a vigorous recruitment process. Screening and testing are all part of the procedure designed to ensure the right individuals are selected and consequently enhance security standards.
The selection process aims to confirm that the applicants are exactly who they say they are. We go through strenuous checks to ensure an operative’s record will not have an adverse influence on their role as a Door Supervisor. Candidates must confirm they have a record free of serious offences for at least 10 years and are also in possession of a 10-year work history.
Below is a brief guideline of our strenuous recruitment process.
Stage 1. Initial Application
Prospective applicants inform us about themselves and complete the VSG candidate criteria form, which is available on request.
Stage 2. Open Day
Potential candidates are welcomed and informed on VSG legacy and ethics. Our code of conduct, use of equipment and quality assurance procedures are explained followed by VSG expectations.
Stage 3. Testing and Vetting
We commence criminal record checks, psychometric and physical tests as well as eye tests to ensure that the candidates’ qualifications meet our standards (all available on request). The number of supervisors with impaired vision would surprise you, if you cannot see, you cannot secure!
Stage 4. Contract Signing
After reviewing the contractual code of conduct, successful candidates sign and are welcomed. Although they are officially part of VSG they understand they are on a 16-week trial and are subject to immediate termination.
Stage 5. Assignment Training – A senior supervisor will train the operative one to one
creating venue awareness and team building. At this point our quality assurance
documents will relay information on the performance of the door supervisor and
will indicate suitability. We aim to please and your feedback and criticisms are
highly valued and will be acted upon.
The chosen operatives are above and beyond
BS7960 and BS7858 standards.
